Between 2008 and 2020, she built and managed the communications and fundraising team at the Sue Ryder Home. As a mentor, she now passes on her experience to many charities as she works with them to develop their activities. Jana has a long-standing interest in philanthropy, serving as Chair of the Executive Board of the fundraising coalition called Za snadné dárcovství. She also co-ordinates the Independent Press Foundation, which is behind the daily newspaper Deník N, and is the executive director of the Sue Ryder Association. Jana graduated from the University of Economics in Prague.
