The homestead was closed for a long time and people could only look into it through a gate, wall or fence until the spring of 2021. We thought it was a shame, so as soon as we acquired it we decided to hold public events there. Although the grounds were in a poor state due to decades of decay, we felt it was a shame to wait to open it until the complete renovation was completed. We know that many people from the neighbourhood and further afield are attracted to the estate and want to take a look inside. We also enjoy meeting people at Cibulka and talking about our plans, the future hospice and the importance of caring for families with seriously ill children, among other things.

In April 2025, we organized the first meeting at Cibulka for families caring for seriously ill children. Mothers, fathers, and their sick and healthy children were there. We laid the foundation for a tradition of meetings that we want to continue on a regular basis. Thanks to these meetings, Cibulka is already beginning to fulfill the purpose to be a true refuge for families with seriously ill children—a place where they find not only relief, but above all joy and pleasure from spending time together.

In February 2025, the renovated Gardener’s House was approved for use. In March 2025, Café Cibulka opened to the public.
